I recently attended a Leadership Bootcamp hosted by one of the prominent coaches in my city and it was phenomenal. It’s exactly what I needed to wrap up the first quarter of the year. I gained so much insight and clarity on my goals and desires. I had to go back to the drawing board to rediscover what I want and desire to see in my life.
As a Leadership Coach, my work has given me the incredible opportunity to meet some of the most amazing humans. Working with people and facilitating their learnings in the journey of becoming great is extremely meaningful and rewarding to me.
Sadly, one of the common, yet subtle problems I have noticed with most of my clients (myself included) is that we hardly celebrate our small wins. We’re always waiting for the big stuff- the public stuff- yet it’s the private, small, even mundane steps we take everyday that ultimately lead us to the big wins. The public applause is definitely an ego booster- the claps, the cheers, the uuuuhhs and aaaaahhs of admirers and secretly jealous folks- but unless we learn to clap and cheer for ourselves, we’ll always be like the proverbial dog chasing its tail but never catching it.
What are your daily, weekly, monthly and annual wins so far? We’ve just ended the first quarter of 2023 – have you celebrated your wins no matter how trivial they seem to you? I battled depression during the pandemic and in those low moments, getting out of bed, taking a shower or even making a meal seemed like a herculean task to me. I simply couldn’t pick myself up to do anything. I was facing an existential crisis that almost knocked me out. But one thing I started doing was appreciating myself more, even for simply getting out of bed. I’m in a much better place now and my mind is clearer, but the lessons are unforgettable.
I no longer take myself and my efforts for granted. I endeavour to do my very best each day, even if it’s as simple as making my bed, if that’s all I can muster the strength to do. Appreciate your process and consider your learnings as you take each step daily towards manifestation of your highest self.
Always,
Posh 💕
