HAVE YOU EVER…

Have you ever had a day or an experience that made you think, ‘now, this is what life is made of’? I have! Our lives are shaped by our everyday experiences whether we know it or not. Everything we go through somehow shapes our mental patterns, beliefs, values and sometimes even the outcomes in our lives. I’ve been privileged to have some amazing experiences in different parts of the world and today I’ll share one of my most memorable one.

This happened in 2016 in Turkey. Everyone who knows me knows travel is one of my greatest loves! On this particular trip, I’d gone with my aunt to conclude a certain business we had been pursuing. Once we finished the professional leg of the trip, we decided it was playtime (the good kind of play!). Our business partner and friend in Turkey decided to take us out on his boat that night on the Black Sea.

We grabbed some pizzas and sodas and sailed out onto the sea, but not very far from the harbour because it was late in the evening. The chilling air and the darkening sky was deeply intoxicating. I laid flat on my back on the boat’s deck and just took it all in. At that moment, nothing else in this life mattered. It was the most zen moment of my life. I had the most intense feeling of satisfaction and fulfilment. The dark, calm night sky enveloped me in its beauty and all I could do was stare speechlessly. I was in total surrender. Pure bliss. At that moment, my needs, desires, struggles and pains seemed to vanish. It was simply me and the universe. Silently communicating.

Anytime I recall what I felt in that moment, I get chills.

The reason this is one of my most cherished memory is because it was simple and unadulterated. I simply had a soda in my hand, pizza in my mouth and awe in my heart! The sounds and sights of that moment were heavenly.

I share this memory to trigger you to remember a time when you felt most zen and in touch with who you are and your purpose. Too many times we’re stuck in painful memories and traumatic events. There’s nothing much we can do about our past, except learn and grow from it. But you can also choose to celebrate those moments when you felt most alive.

Recall the event. Where were you? What were you doing? Who were you with? What sights and sounds can you remember from that experience? What did you think to yourself in that moment of pure bliss? And as you think of these things, create a special folder in your brain to recall more and more of such events. Choose to allow these memories to shape your beliefs into believing that the world is beautiful and you can live it in your own terms.

Folks, it is possible to enjoy life, one day at a time!

Always,

Posh 💕
